Frequently laptop users or users with pointing devices integrated in keyboards have difficulty with the cursor jumping from one portion of the display to another. This occurance can be traced to two culprits. Most often it is fingers or palms brushing the trackpad/glidepad. Other times it is caused from a poorly fitting tip on the trackpoint. Sometimes the trackpoint can be moved as the keys around it are pressed.
Every user has a preference and all are adamant about their likes and dislikes for either the glidepad or trackpoint. For that reason it is best to find the favored input method and disable the other option in the laptop's BIOS (refer to the manufacturer's instructions) or use one of the applications listed below to freeze input devices while typing.

By default, all MCP users are administrators of their PCs. Some users have experienced issues that require administrative privileges on their PCs, via a second administrative account, due to profile corruption; Operating System (OS) damage; viruses; or other isolated events.
The University Of Connecticut, School of Business has a policy not to release the default administrator's password regardless of the situations for security, personal privacy, and many other reasons.
Instead, there is a FREE tool that will allow PC owners to change or delete these existing administrator passwords so full access to all accounts can be granted. http://www.pcloginnow.com/*

Nearly every laptop manufacturer has Power Management software to set power profiles for the device. Many include a battery reconditioning app that can check the "health" of the battery and help restore some of its original performance.
Search your laptops Control Panel or Start Menu for the Power Management software.
To recondition your battery on Lenovo laptops, click on the "Battery Maintenance" button on the Battery Information tab of the Power Manager. Before proceeding, make sure your laptop can be left unused and plugged into AC power for 4-5 hours. Then click on the "Perform Reset" button. You will be notified when the recondition is complete. Please let me know if this helps.
If you do not have power management software installed check for the power management software driver on the manufactuere's website, download it and install it.
Lenovo owners can find drivers here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/DRVR-MATRIX.html#newhp
